Woodpecker Class visit the ss Great Britain!

"All hands on deck!"
"Aye Aye, Captain!"

This term we are also learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We know lots of facts about him, his life and some of the amazing things he designed so if you have any questions, just ask Woodpecker Class!

We recently visited the ss Great Britain in Bristol. We had such a fantastic day and learnt so much about Brunel and his beautiful ship. We explored the dry dock and museum and met lots of interesting people. We jumped aboard and enjoyed the sights and smells of a working ship. We even stepped back in time to replay the launch of the ss Great Britain, dressing up as Lords, Ladies, Engineers and more! Please take a look at the photos below and perhaps your child can talk you through their day.

Thank you to all the helpers who gave up their time to support Year 1 and 2 on their trip! What a wonderful day!

If you would like to learn more, there's lots more interesting information on the website http://ssgreatbritain.org/story This July, the ship celebrates its 170th anniversary so look out for more exciting things to come!
