Wildlife Area Workdays - Sunday 22nd and 29th September
WOW! What a difference twelve hours can make! For the last two Sundays, parents and children in Years 5 and 6 converged on the Wildlife area with spades, forks, strimmers and plenty of enthusiasm, to rediscover what lay beneath the brambles, grass and weeds. This once beautiful wildlife haven had been out of bounds during the building of the Children’s Centre and changes to the school itself. In addition, the machinery used to erect a secure fence devastated the existing planting.
The result of the day of hard work? We can now once again see the paths, bucket ponds, surviving shrubs and trees, and the original hedge line! An amazing transformation!
A huge thank you has to go to all the parents and children who gave their time and energy to help us.
