Cheddar Gorge and the Stone Age

This November, we took the children from Eagles, Falcons and Owls to Cheddar Gorge to learn all about the Stone Age period. We were wowed by the stalactites and stalagmites of Gough's Cave and, after climbing a staggering 274 steps up Jacob's Ladder, we were utterly overawed at the view from the Lookout Tower. The children learnt how to make fire and met The Cheddar Man (a replica of course), who lived around 10,000 years ago, and is one of the oldest, almost complete skeletons of our species!
