Our Curriculum Overview

The overarching vision and intent of our school is “ growing together “ to unlock pupil potential through a curriculum that nurtures, develops character and masters knowledge and skills. As a church school, we nurture “Growing together inwardly”, spiritually towards God. “Growing together outwardly” through developing skills and knowledge both in personal development and academic achievement. We aim to “grow together in service” through courageous advocacy towards others. Our goal is to ensure that the unique needs of all our children are met.

We have three core Christian values that are interwoven within our curriculum: Compassion, Courage and Trust. Living out these core values, our community grows spiritually to be the best versions of themselves.

As a nurturing school, our curriculum has the six principles of Nurture to support us to prioritise mental health and wellbeing. We believe in everybody and relationships are at the heart of all that we do.

Learning is a lifelong journey and we foster a growth-mindset amongst our school community. At our school, pupils are safe to make “marvellous mistakes" as an important part of learning.

The school has a clearly defined and developed approach to providing a full, broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. The curriculum schemes of work are progressive, build towards clear end points whilst enabling key concepts to be repeated – allowing pupils to know more and remember more. As part of LSP Trust, we work alongside other schools to offer staff training and development opportunities.
